So it's that time of the year again. This year I'm going to throw my list up on the old blogo. Here's a list of a couple things that caught my eye.
DAY BY DAY ARMAGEDDON: SHATTERED HOURGLASS
Third in a great series of Zombie books. The first of which starts off in San Antonio. Been looking forward to this one for quite a while.
HEX SOLO WALLET CASE for iPhone 5
Nice case I have had my eye on for a bit. Wish it had just one more opening for an extra card but two will do. My idea behind this one is to have my cc in one opening and my drivers license and a card of barcodes in another. Minimizes the amount of things I need to carry with me, just hope I never lose my phone.
PARROT AR.DRONE 2.0
The AR.Drone 2.0 is remote-controlled by an iPhone or iPad and features a number of sensors, including a high-definition front camera, vertical camera, an ultrasound altimeter and absolute control mode. With the AR.Drone 2.0, you can now record video and take pictures while in-flight This one kind of goes on my Christmas "wish" list because its a little over budget but it's too awesome not to put on here.
SCOOBY DOO MUG
This one kind of speaks for itself. I'm not much of a coffee/hot tea drinker, but on the off chance that I indulge in some hot sweetness I might as well do it in some Scooby Doo awesomeness.
LEATHERMAN REBAR (BLACK)
You have to admit, this one looks pretty damn slick. In all honesty I would probably settle for any of the regular/large sized squarish Leathermans as long as it is in the oxidized black like this one. Been looking for a multitool for a good while and so it has a place on my list this year.
UNDER ARMOUR 18OZ VACUUM INSULATED WATER BOTTLE
What's your favorite color? Matte Black. Not just black black? Nope, Matte Black.I received an awesome stainless-steel 24oz version last year and I have put it to some good use. This year, the super scientists over at Under Armour have decided to launch a matte/flat black version... securing a solid spot on my list.
iHealth Wireless Blood Pressure Wrist Monitor
iHealth and Withings have put out a plethora (yes, a plethora Guapo) of app enabled health products. One or two have been on Christmas lists past. The problem with some of their normal blood pressure monitors is that they have a cuff that will fit a normal human being and well, not a giant. This one, however, is made to fit around your wrist and it's a little cheaper to boot.
LEVITON OUTLET/USB CHARGER
I think everyone should have a few of these in their home. I can think of a few places I would place one of these guys.
XBOX 360 KINECT SENSOR
I have had an XBox360 for quite some time now. I have even had to endure a heart-wrenching red ring of death not too long ago. But, I've never ponied up for the awesomeness that is the Kinect Sensor. If somehow it becomes known that Santa will be bringing me this great gift, a secondary item enters my list. Nike+ Kinect Training for XBox360. The Kinect Sensor is 100% required.
YVES SAINT LAURENT L'HOMME COLOGNE
Hands down one of my favorite colognes of the past few years. I ran out of mine sometime this last year so this little guy earns a spot on the list. If you haven't sniffed this guy yet, go by a department store and take a big whiff of the awesomeness that is L'Homme... if you're up for it.
Doesn't really matter what brand, I'm just looking for a corded or codeless circular saw to get down on some projects here and there.
JOBY GRIPTIGHT MOUNT
This little guy is a nice compliment to anyone who likes using their iPhone camera. It gives you the convenience of attaching your phone to a tripod, steadicam, etc via the 1/4" standard camera thread on the bottom.
LIGHTNING TO USB CABLE
Know anybody with an iPhone5? This gift applies to them also. My guess is they probably only have the one cable that came with their phone to carry around wherever they go like I do. Previously, all mobile products from Apple used the same connector and having multiple cables laying around was normal. Now, many of us are left to build our arsenal of cables once again. The good news in all of this is that the iPhone5 has a pretty awesome battery on board.
LIGHTNING TO 30PIN ADAPTER
So, this guy connects any Apple product with the new Lightning connecter to an old Apple 30pin cable you may have laying around. (See above for more info about that)
APPLE GIFT CARDS
And of course, if all else fails... Apple store gift cards are very welcome.
The Following Are Not On My List
But I Highly Recommend Them:
APPLE TV - A must own for anyone with Apple products at home. This little guy gives you a ton of bang for your buck. It allows you to stream music, movies, games, and even facetime wirelessly from your Mac or Apple mobile device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) onto your HDTV and/or surround sound.
THE WALKING DEAD COMPENDIUM - You know how people always say the book is better than the movie/show, well they're right. This has to be one of the grittiest stories about survival in the world of zombies that I have ever read. The key thing always remember about zombie stories is that the zombies are only the equalizers in the equation, the real villain is human nature. How far would you go for your family?
NIKE+ FUELBAND - The guys over at Nike+ have developed a pretty nifty little product that allows you to not only track your daily movement (through what they have titled Fuel), they also allow you to compete against any of your Facebook friends who have the FuelBand.
SQUARE CREDIT CARD READER - Is there an entrepreneur in the family? Do any of your friends run or own their own small business, sell their art, have garage sales more than once a year, have a lemonade stand, and own a smart phone/ipad? If they don't already have Square, they definitely need one. This tiny little buddy lets you take credit cards through your cellphone with no hassle.
I highly recommend it.
