MORE LOST SEASON 5

NEW BOX.

5LB BAG OF SHREDDED US CURRENCY

Seriously?

from moneyfactory.gov

"The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is offering a 5lb bag of Shredded U.S. Currency. This bag contains approximately $10,000 worth of Shredded U.S. currency notes.
These notes were removed from the manufacturing process prior to delivery to the Federal Reserve System and have not been monetized. "

I'm not quite sure why it is that I find this so awesome, a 5lb. bag of Shredded US Currency($45) is essentially trash. But, this might be some of the coolest looking trash ever. I wish I would have known about this a month ago, It would make great filler for Christmas presents......lol.

Just imagine the pranks you could pull with this....

CHASE MOBILE APP

So, I'm not going to post pictures or a nice little view of the App icon. No link to the iTunes store, none of that. Why? This App sucks.

Seriously Chase? This is the best you could do? It took you this long to finally come up with an actual mobile site and as far as mobile sites go.... it's not all that. So, now you come out with an iPhone app that just opens up a browser into your mobile site..... Really? That's it?

"JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) is one of the oldest financial services firms in the world. It is a leader in financial services with assets of $2.3 trillion.[3], and the largest market capitalization and deposit base of any U.S. banking institution. The hedge fund unit of JPMorgan Chase is the largest hedge fund in the United States with $34 billion in assets as of 2007.[4] Formed in 2000 when Chase Manhattan Corporation acquired J.P. Morgan & Co., the firm serves millions of consumers in the United States and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and governmental clients."
-WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE

................and this is the best you can do????? Give me a break.

UPDATE:
listen up Chase... If you want to know how it's done go look at the mint.com iPhone App.

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN

Saw this last night, and I recommend you go watch it. It's apparently adapted from a book by the same name and will soon be remade by Cloverfield director Mat Reeves.

CHESS WITH FRIENDS

I am officially addicted to Chess With Friends. It's a turn-based game from Newtoy Inc. for the iPhone that lets you pick an opponent from your contacts list to create long distance games.

Chess is normally a game that can take a long while, so in my opinion this is a pretty kool way of playing it. A nice little badge will appear on the app that notifies you of how many games you can make a move in.... sort of like new mail messages or sms texts. Stefan introduced Gina and myself to this over Thanksgiving and I just keep starting game after game.

Overall, this app is great. The fact that it's $FREE.99 makes it that much better.

LOST SEASON 5

Here's a little clip to get your LOST fix.
Season premiere January 21st. Mark your calenders...

AIRPORT EXPRESS

I've been looking for a way to stream my iTunes music onto my living room speakers, especially now with the Remote app for the iPhone. If my Xbox 360 could stream .m4p files I wouldn't need to do any research, but since it doesn't... I started searching.

I didn't have to search far.

The Airport Express($99) is a pretty nice simple solution. It can create a new wireless network for you if you don't already have one or it can serve as an extender for your current wireless network. More importantly(at least for me anyway) is it's audio mini jack on the bottom to hook up to your stereo or powered speakers. It can also (in theory) serve to charge your iphone if you plug into its usb port. Um, so.... yeah... this one's going on my Christmas List.

MINI DEEP-DISH PIZZA PANS

I stumbled upon these little guys at Williams-Sonoma the other day. The Mini Deep-Dish Pizza Pans(set of 4,$26) are 7" in diameter and 1 1/2" deep, perfect for making some Chicago style deep dish mini pizza's.....

Man, my mouth is already watering thinking about it.... lol. I need to go eat something.

I've been trying to get my hands on something like this for a while now... my only other alternative was to try and bribe the guy at Pizza Hut for a personal pan pizza pan... I've been a fan of those ever since my book-it days. These little badboys are going on my Christmas List fo sho.

WHAT'S A COOK TO DO?

From the Back Cover
ALL IS REVEALED

How To season a cast-iron skillet, bake a perfect fruit tart, form crystal-clear ice cubes, make the perfect burger, decide which breading is best for veal scaloppine and chicken breasts, know where to position the wineglass.

Whether it's about peeling, or chopping or carving, or blending or whipping, or even restaurant etiquette, it's all here, compiled into 484 entries by master teacher and award-winning author James Peterson. Packed with 533 step-by-step color photographs, hundreds of inspired ideas, and dozens of delicious recipes

Another one for my Christmas List. Saw this book at Anthropologie and I couldn't put it down, but I'm one of those "how does it work?" and "so THAT'S how you do that" kind of people....

CROSLEY AV USB TURNTABLE

Just like in elementary. The Crosley AV USB turntable brings back a lot of memories... If you've got some vinyl that needs playing or if you're like me and have a record from a band you heard in Austin because that's all they had was vinyl, but they were really good so you bought it and have it just laying there and none of your dj friends will put it into mp3 format for you.... lol. Then here you go. LOL. No, there are far more affordable turntables to do that, but I do like the look of this guy. the retro feel, you can almost smell your classroom and feel(or in some people's cases taste) the extra glue on your fingers.

THE DARK KNIGHT DVD

There isn't much I need to say here. Best comic movie of all time? Best comic villain of all time? This is definitely going on my Christmas List.

I really hope Heath Ledger gets the Oscar on this one. I'd like to see the Riddler in the next movie, maybe played by Daniel Day Lewis.... hmm?

LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON

....whoa. I'll be watching.

iPHONE UPDATES

Well, with the iPhone's 2.2 update come and gone, we were treated to a few goodies...

the Safari redesign, Google streetview, emailable locations in Google maps, a podcast section in the itunes app, categories updates in the app store, a one touch home screen shortcut, and the much needed on/off toggle for auto-fill.

But there is plenty more that needs updating. There are the obvious updates that everyone cries about, like copy&paste or flash support. Recently though, I've been making a list of updates I would like to see....

.....................................................................................................

CONTACTS

•Sendable business card that automatically fills in your contact info for the recipient. (this can be a real hassle sometimes and simply emailing it to one another iphone to iphone would make things so much easier.)

•Add a category for birthdays, anniversaries, important dates, etc. that will show up on calendars

•Sort by feature (friends, company, family, school, etc.)

•Coverflow for contacts (not really needed but would be nice)

.....................................................................................................

CAMERA

•Video or perhaps a stand alone video app with one button email/mms capability. (I think this is one of the biggest things missing from the iPhone in my opinion...)

•Allow your iPhone to be your webcam

•One button uploadable video to YouTube or your blog.

•On the go playlist-like photo albums (create a new album on the fly and be able to select the album for your pic destination instead of just Camera Roll)

•Simple edit features ala picassa

•Simple filter add ons

.....................................................................................................

EMAIL

•A plus sign in the text area to be able to email more than one pic at a time, add contact info (business card), or your location via a google maps link/pindrop, etc.

•Be able to change the order email accounts are displayed in

•I know a lot of people want a landscape email view also, personally I'm fine with only portrait... but to have the option would be great.

.....................................................................................................

A few extra little tidbits I had rolling around in my brain...

SAFARI

•Toggle lock button for landscape/portrait ( I surf the web right before I go to bed and find myself having to constantly move the phone around to get it out of landscape... maybe even a manual landscape/portrait mode would be nice.)

SMS
•Ofcourse, a large amount of people have been crying about MMS. I really don't miss it too much but, it would be great if it was intergrated into the style already in the iPhone where a clickable thumbnail of the mms image/video would pop up in a word bubble. Like I said, I'm fine without it... but not all of my friends have smartphones so it would be nice to have nonetheless.

SCREEN
•Changeable locked screen info. Be able to add and see info like temperature with a simple click the same way you click it on just to see the time.
•Video screensavers/wallpapers would be nice, and video ringtones would be fun also.

CALENDAR
•Future date (x) amount of days from today feature. (I find myself having to count the actual days on the calendar to mark certain things, an auto-counter of some sort would be a nice touch.)
•Hyperlinkable event info that instantly creates an event in your calendar app. (send party invites through email or have an event link on your website that iphone users could click on)

TEMPERATURE
•have a default city temp show on the app in the same way the Calendar app has the actual date

.....................................................................................................

Overall, I still think the iPhone is the best phone out right now. A lot of the add-ons I would like to see have been touched upon through various apps in the appstore or through jailbreaking, but I feel Apple should have these options in their phones already. I'm confident that they will add a ton more options not to mention options I couldn't even think of... I've never measured phones through their potential for growth, the iPhone has changed that for me.

NEW CHE TRAILER

2012 TRAILER

HAMMERHEAD AUTO HAMMER

This one goes down in the "about damn time" category... I really want to try this guy out. I've always thought someone should make a non-pro nail gun. The Craftsman Hammerhead Auto Hammer($100) has a ton of potential... making projects quicker, cleaner, and easier. It's perfect for those hard to reach places where you can't swing a hammer, and more importantly this hits the nail on the head for a key market. Lazy people....

So, I'm adding it to my Christmas List.

With an LED work light, retractable nail sleeve, and weighing only 1.86lbs with the battery attached... Craftsman just created a whole new category in powertools.
